What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a “whole body” system of manual therapy, that is based upon a unique biomechanical principles, which utilises a variety of methods to treat musculoskeletal issues and other functional disorders in the body.



What conditions do Osteopaths deal with?

Osteopathy is best recognised for its treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, however it also has a role to play in the management of a number of different conditions. Some of the most common complaints for which clients come in for an Osteopathic treatment include:


  • Neck and back pain

  • Headaches

  • Work-relates and RSI

  • TMJ – Jaw problems

  • Sciatica

  • Pain in peripheral joints such knees and ankles, shoulder, tendinitis and muscle strains

  • Sports related injuries


Osteopathy can also be highly effective in pain management related to arthritic conditions, and when utilised alongside other medical treatments, can be of value in reducing the severity of symptoms in conditions such as chronic fatigue, gynaecological dysfunction and asthma and additionally for pregnancy related issues.
