I have been a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist for over 10 years working alongside Osteopaths, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists.

I am a qualified personal trainer and gained my ABA boxing coaching qualification after competing nationally and internationally for my local Boxing team.

I was head massage therapist at a Central London Osteopath clinic where I increased my skill set with dry needling before moving to Australia and now provide a home and mobile sports therapist service whilst furthering my knowledge.

Due to an initial spinal injury in 2010 resulting in a titanium cervical disc replacement, and a second in 2018, this highlighted to me even more the importance of massage and dry needling alongside exercise in rehabilitation.

This experience has shown me as an athlete and as a person how important it is to look after your body as an injury can put you out of action for months.

How is massage beneficial too overall health and wellbeing?

There are several ways in which massage can be beneficial for chronic pain: it can be a soothing and calming experience to help alleviate the stresses brought on by their condition, providing short-term relaxation and wellbeing,” sports and remedial massage therapist Helen Smith says.

“If a massage therapist’s help is sought, full range of movement tests can be done to investigate any imbalance causing pain. Deep tissue massage with muscle energy techniques help increase the stretch of the muscles and an exercise program with stretching routines can help a person to deal with and understand their problem.”
