About BCST
BCST can help you regain access to the Health, Clarity and Empowerment that is always within you.
It is a way to connect with the body natural wisdom and ability to move forwards.
The therapy is led by the client allowing their system to set the pace at which adjustments take place and the order in which change occurs.
The client lies fully clothed on a massage table. With a light touch the practitioner places their hands on the head, spine, feet, sacrum, or possibly other areas of the body. The practitioner creates a still, safe place and ‘listens’ via the hands as the client’s body tells its story.
“Craniosacral Therapy is all about stillness and giving your body a safe place and a platform to ‘speak’ while being physically held in a completely non-judgemental, gentle way.”
As this is a gentle therapy, people of any age can benefit from it including
- Babies and their mothers, even before birth
- Elders
- Anyone encountering stress or recovering from trauma
- Pets can also enjoy the benefits of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
How Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy developed
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy stems from the work of Dr William Sutherland, an American osteopath in the early 1900s. He discovered rhythmic movements of the bones of the head, and latterly, the cells of the body. The movements are a direct expression of health. When movement is restricted, so too is health.
Further expansion on this movement was investigated by many leaders in the field of Craniosacral Therapy, including Franklyn Sills, who has been influential in developing Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy throughout the world.
Honestly, many people find it difficult to describe. Everyone’s experience is unique.
Maybe that is what makes it so special. The best way to discover how this therapy works is to experience it and observe how your body respond.
