I have been working in the field since 2000. I first began as a Therapist working with children with Autism. Soon after I got a job in a Government school in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. I became a fully registered psychologist in February of 2003.
My career has been a combination of working with children with Autism by providing intensive therapy programs in their homes and working in schools part-time. I have worked in all sectors (goverment, catholic and private). I also worked in a private International College in Melbourne as a Student Support Services Manager and Counsellor. Over the years I gained valuable experience in assessing and treating chilldren with learning difficulties, behaviour problems, and social emotional difficulties. A challenging but rewading career.
I am also a proud mother of three beautiful children. Balancing work and family life is chalenging but at the same time it keeps me focussed and grounded. Being a mother has enhanced my role as a psychologist because I can fully appreciate the parenting role.
I feel my service is unique because it is personal, friendly and reliable. I also prefer to travel to schools which makes accessing a Psychologist much easier for parents and families. I am passionate about accurately assessing childrens difficulties which leads to helpful treatment plans. My areas of interests are, Learning Difficulties, Anxiety, Autism, ADHD, Giftedness, and School Readiness.
I also have a special interest in Integrative Mental Health, which combines psychological therapies with nutritional science. In addition I have a special interest in neuropsychology which involves how the brain functions and processes information, specifially in relation to learning and emotions.
I would like to welcome you to HEALTHY YOUNG MINDS! A growing company which prides itself in offering a professional, friendly and reliable service to families and schools in Melbourne.
Healthy Young Minds works closely with other allied health professionals and can refer as needed. Close collaboration is the key to achieving success for your child.
