In Irene's meditation classes, you will learn the causes of stress and how to use the relaxation response to return to your natural state of calmness.

During meditation, your body enters a deep state of relaxation that changes your physical and emotional responses to stress.

Our minds remain engaged and relaxed when we meditate.

Incorporating relaxation and breathing techniques into your mind and body can provide you with these benefits:

When stress triggers your body’s fight-or-flight response, it spikes up your heart. Relaxation lets your body know it’s okay to slow down and save your energy.

Relaxation techniques also help lower your blood pressure and oxygen consumption.

  • When your body is in fight-or-flight mode, the stress causes dysfunction in your gut. Deep breathing techniques and meditation can help these symptoms.
  • When you’re under a lot of stress, your breathing speeds up, causing you to feel dizzy and tired. Meditation and proper breathing techniques can help you slow down and relax.
  • When the body relaxes, endorphins are released, which help ease muscle pain and other conditions like fibromyalgia, migraines, and chronic pelvic pain.
  • Deep breathing techniques can help you switch on the relaxation response. They can sometimes treat insomnia.

Your physical, mental, and social well-being all contribute to your quality of life.

If you’re struggling with stress and anxiety, you can discuss your concern with a friend, family or a professional.

Counsellors like Irene can provide you with coping techniques to help you reduce your stressors.

Send an online enquiry to Irene to know how meditation and relaxation response can help you or your loved one.
