OSTEOPATHY

Our osteopaths are qualified, experienced therapists who treat from both our Windsor and Bella Vista clinics.

Osteopaths use a range of approaches to enhance function, including manual therapy (mobilisation, stretching, massage and manipulation for ligaments and joints), exercise therapy and programming, equipment prescription, lifestyle advice and patient education. Osteopaths determine the mix and frequency of treatment and management approaches using skilled clinical evaluation and diagnostic approaches.

Does osteopathy hurt?

Some patients may experience a bit of soreness following a treatment but you should not expect soreness to occur. On rare occasions a complaint may be aggravated and reactions to treatment differ from one person to the next. It's recommended you report a thorough medical history to make your osteopath aware of any pre-existing conditions such as osteoporosis or a condition related to fragility.

What is cranial osteopathy?

Correctly termed Osteopathy in the Cranial Field, cranial osteopathy is also known as CranioSacral Therapy.

It is a method of detecting and correcting strains within the body by tuning into the Primary Respiratory Mechanism. This small and involuntary movement within the central nervous system and indeed all body tissues is interrupted in areas where tissues and bones have been strained or injured. This affects the efficient delivery of body fluids carrying essential nutrients and hormones etc.

What is structural osteopathy?

Structural osteopathy describes the diagnosis and treatment of issues in the musculoskeletal system.

Meet Our Osteopaths

Dr. James Harrison

Osteopath
Dip.Osteopathy
Member OA
Director of Health Dimensions – Natural Health Pty Ltd

Dr. James Harrison is one of our principal osteopaths and a director of Health Dimensions - Natural Health Pty Ltd. He has engineering qualifications, but when he fell ill and received osteopathic care, he realised that he was destined to do something else.

As he experienced firsthand the wonderful benefits of osteopathy, he decided to study it, favouring the cranial field and paediatrics subjects, which he now employs to treat his patients.

Dr. Kerry Harrison

Osteopath

Member OA
Director of Health Dimensions – Natural Health Pty Ltd

Dr. Kerry Harrison is also a director and a certified osteopath who has been practicing an array of natural therapies for more than 37 years. Her treatment approach involves finding the root cause of a chronic structural problem.

Kerry no longer treats manually, but rather she looks at how structure of the body governs the function. Her training in osteopathy, Phase Contrast Live Blood and Coagulated Blood Microscopy helped her see the connection between the internal organs and the body’s structure back in 1995. Since discovering this link, she started using electrodermal screening in addressing her patients’ conditions.

Dr. Owen Gray

Osteopath

Dr. Owen Gray suffered from back pain as a teenager, and it was only osteopathy that gave him lasting relief. When he decided to become a healthcare professional, he knew then and there that osteopathy will serve as the foundation of his ability to treat different people and conditions.

Dr. Shane Fewster

Osteopath
B.App.Sc(Ost), M.Osteopathy
Member OA

Dr. Shane Fewster and his team from his former landscaping company are accustomed to musculoskeletal pains, which they would always succumb to. Thanks to osteopathy, they finally found relief and Shane studied everything about this modality so that he could use it to treat other people who are suffering from chronic pain.

Shane employs musculoskeletal acupuncture, gentle manipulation, mobilisation and targeted massage therapies to relieve his patients of their pain.
