Cupping

Cupping therapy involves glass or bamboo cups being placed on specific areas of the skin with suction to stimulate the flow of energy and blood within the body. Cupping is a non-invasive way to activate healing from the outside with internal results. The treatment will enhance circulation of blood to the area, disperse and move stagnant qi, and draw out negative energy from the area. 

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is an aspect of TCM where congestion in the blood is treated through the vigorous scrapping of a specialised tool on the site of the problem. The Gua Sha tool has a smoothed edge and is firmly scraped across the lubricated skin, along the meridian pathways. This process produces “Sha”, a distinctive reddening and eventual bruising on the surface of the skin. This is just the body responding to the treatment and removing the inflammation and pain in that area.
