What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?

This gentle hands-on therapy helps to release unresolved trauma held in the body that can often be the underlying cause of disharmony. In a space of true listening presence, the nervous system can recognise and let go of blockages and their associated pain patterns, unhelpful behaviours and emotions.

What happens in a typical session?

After a brief chat and history taking, you lie fully clothed on a comfortable massage table. I make a series of light contacts on various parts of your body, generally but not limited to the spine and the head.

Through dialogue, we tune into the sensations of the body to gain a picture of what is being held, be it pain or any other sensation, and where it is being held in the body. Sometimes you could feel no sensation at all, and other times you could feel a lot, and perhaps movement in the body can occur.

The nervous system will only release what it is ready to release and always in a safe gentle way that will not retraumatize. Often you will understand what is being released, other times it will not be clear until later.

A typical session will last between 45-60 minutes.

Most people feel centred, relaxed and calm after a session. Over the following 24-48 hours you may notice differences in your body and how you feel.

What conditions can Craniosacral Therapy help?
