About Me
My life’s journey to arrive at Gestalt Therapy has been a tale of opposing forces: one towards Music and the Arts, and the other, Science and Nature.
I discovered Gestalt in 1998 and so began the synthesis of these two opposing forces. I directed a Shakespeare theatre troupe with a Gestalt focus. It was an enthusiastic journey for the actors, both metaphorically and literally, since our version of Henry V took the audience through various streets and venues in Highgate Hill.
After directing a number of Shakespearean plays, I taught Psychology and Gestalt Therapy in TAFE colleges whilst facilitating private group work. Experience has taught me that the most valuable part of teaching Gestalt, is that it has the ability to transform people’s whole experience and attitude. It is truly a life-change and life-giving experience.
I had already studied Music for six years and Science for four years, so my curiosity with regards to Psychology and Performance had already taken root. It’s easy to find people to play music with when you’re studying music, and the same is surprisingly true studying science! These led to many choral and performance groups.
Like Gestalt psychology, my working life makes sense when viewed as a whole. For four years I taught in high schools which opened up many questions for me in regards to my, and others’ psychological make-up.
At present I am engaged in work with Diamond Essence, which synthesises techniques taken from Eastern Mystic Traditions with Western psychology.

What others say about me
“During the Gestalt course, Terence’s clear and gentle presence created a safe and nurturing environment which I found incredibly supportive. I found Terence’s facilitation to be warm, honest and enlightening, allowing me to explore and awaken to deeper parts of myself… I was able to deepen and improve in my relationships with others and, most importantly, be more loving with myself. Thank you Terence.” Peta
“Terence has helped me in resolving long-held angst, depression and feelings of low-self worth and in generally getting un-stuck. Assisting issues ranging from ego to existential and beyond he has proven to be a skillful facilitator in my process. I’ve taken skills away from our time together. I particularly enjoy our Gestalt Therapy sessions and I regularly notice benefits unfolding even weeks after a session with him, flowing into other areas of my life quite serendipitously and very welcome.” Michael
