Acupuncture is a natural, safe, effective therapy which can help a wide range of health problem. It is natural and without side-effects. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is based on the 5 element system and meridians which have a specific course and function throughout the body. Qi (energy) travels along the meridian lines which are connected to specific organs and body functions and if the energy flow is blocked or thrown off balance, illness and /or pain can often occur.

The most common ailments I treat with success are back, shoulder and neck problems, such as sciatica, bursitis, tennis elbow, headaches, arthritis and frozen shoulder. Acupuncture can also help with morning sickness, induce labour, menopause, sinusitis, hayfever, Bell's Palsy, and so much more.

An Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific sites (acupoints) along the body's meridians to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of Qi throughout the body. The disposable acupuncture needles are all for single use only in order to prevent cross infection. A practitioner may also stimulate the acupuncture points using other methods, including moxibustion, cupping, laser therapy, electro-stimulation, and massage, in order to re-establish the flow of qi.

Cupping therapy works by lifting the body's connective tissue, loosening adhesions and restoring blood flow to areas of the body that have been restricted. It is an excellent treatment for stress, fatigue, aches, and pains.

Moxibustion- Moxa is an ancient Chinese medical technique which involves burning a dried herb (mugwort) and placing it near or on the body's surface. It can also be placed on the needle to put heat through the needle and into the acupoint to help bring blood and qi flow to the affected area. Moxa is used to treat a wide variety of health problems.

Electro-Acupuncture- This technique involves applying a mild electric (battery operated) current through acupuncture needles, and is very useful for treating muscle aches and pains by tonifing or sedating the acupoint or trigger point.
