The first question I receive is "Can you make me sound like a chicken". My answer is "only if you want to sound like a chicken, but I don't understand chickens so I would rather listen to you as you a human being." Basically you cannot be made to do anything you don't what to do, nobody can. These are staged shows with people who thrive on sensationalism. Clinical hypnotherapy is ethical and respecting of you, its about changing your negative perspectives not embarrassing you.
The next statement which may be made is, "Your cannot hypnotize me!" My answer is "then why did you come here, seriously why would you go to a hypnotherapist not to be hypnotized? If you can go to sleep at night then you can be hypnotized. You do it to yourself every night just before you go to sleep. If you did not, then you certainly would not fall asleep." This is a classic sign of a person who is actually frightened of being controlled, but hypnosis never controls you; so there is nothing to be afraid of, absolutely nothing.
YOU MAY ASK WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
When we are awake and alert our brain waves are also alert, cruising along at a fairly fast rate, taking in everything around us, our senses are keen and alert to everything and everyone - our critical analytical mind is fully engaged. As we become drowsy - watching TV for instance, our senses start to shut down and so too does our brain waves to a nice steady slow state where all our physiological function is maintained to keep us safe. It is at this point that you have performed self hypnosis by TV. Should you continue on sitting in front of the TV you will be asleep very shortly as I am sure you have experienced on many occasions.
The therapist's role is to relax you in the same way the TV does only quicker and far more effectively, from there the therapy is geared to bypass that critical analytical mind and engage your subconscious mind where all your belief systems reside. Unfortunately for most people our belief systems are not always accurate, in fact most are not. This results in distorted views which can and usually does cause us to grow to dislike ourselves and ultimately targets our confidence and self esteem. The role of the therapists is to review those negative inaccurate beliefs to a more accurate representation of you, which will automatically allow your self esteem to grow. This is not a quick fix, you have probably spent many years harboring those negative inaccurate beliefs regardless where they came from and the therapist may need to spend a bit of time reestablishing the person you should have been, the person you are destined to be. So my answer to the person who cannot be hypnotized would be, "why would you not want to be Hypnotized? It is so relaxing and you have the potential to excel as you truly deserve to."

Moira has come from a very poor background in Scotland, and understands the varied difficulties facing her clients. Through her own life experiences she is well versed in most aspects which trouble her clients. She is empathetic and focuses her attention on advocacy and empowering her clients to be individuals, fully accepting of themselves and empowered to be who they truly are.
After nursing for most of her life Moira has observed that all illnesses have a huge impact on the emotional and psychological well-being of client's; family, friends and work. "It is imperative that we do not lose focus or concentration on our health. Ill health impacts on every aspect of life, only making life more and more difficult. It is during these periods of illness/weakness that we see our lives crumbling and stress rears its ugly head."
Today, Australians have very complicated & demanding lives, which are profoundly busy with little or no time allocated to health or well being. We barely scrape through each day without being confronted by one crisis after another. How do we expect to keep well when everything around us is so fast and frantic demanding more and more from us?
