NATUROPATHIC CONSULTATION

The first consultation with Cherie usual starts with a detailed collection and assessment of your overall health and medical history. This includes filling out a detailed health questionnaire to be completed prior to or on arrival. For this purpose, please bring with you any recent results of pathologies and/or physiological assessments that you may have e.g. blood test results, specialist assessments etc. relevant to your condition.

If you haven’t consulted a GP and/or don’t have any pathology or other assessment reports, we are able to order functional tests for many purposes (non-medicare rebated).

What To Expect During Your Initial Consultation?

An initial consultation may utilise a combination of the following techniques (as appropriate):

• Record thorough case history including family health history

Your Follow Up Consultation

Optimal health is realistic and achievable. Although bear in mind that it has taken time for you to develop your health problems. As such, it will take time for them to heal. Please be patient and know that we will work together to help you reach these goals.

At all times throughout your treatment, it is important that you take an active role in your health care. The journey of health empowers us to change, grow and integrate new knowledge. Throughout your treatment you will develop an understanding of your own body and will learn specific strategies for long-term health.

We’ll provide you with a sound reason for subsequent consultations. A follow-up consultation, after all initial assessment is complete, will deliver an overall treatment plan which will factor in your short, medium and long term health and wellness goals if relevant. Follow-up is vital for checking progress, making necessary adjustments to the treatment protocol and providing further guidance, education and motivation.

How Long Is A Session?

Initial Consultation - approx. 60 - 90mins & may be split into two or three smaller sessions if needed
Follow Up Consultation - approx.45mins

ABOUT OUR REMEDIES

The effectiveness of a Natural Medicine is directly proportional to the quality and strength of its raw materials (and the ability for you to stay committed to your treatment...). We only select and recommend remedies that contain the purest ingredients and are vigorously tested to confirm the raw material purity, quality and efficacy.

We do not readily support remedies that are easily available for self-prescribing, such as ones found in some health food stores, discount vitamin shops and pharmacies. The information required to use natural medicines properly is far more sophisticated than the information provided to the public via mainstream advertising. Low-quality products are formulated based on price and marketability, not therapeutic value.

For example, Echinacea blends in many pharmacy and health food shops often contains the E. purpurea whole plant variety - but it is the more expensive E. angustifolia ('root or rhizome' not whole plant) that has been traditionally used by herbalists in long-term fortification of the immune system (not to 'lessen the symptoms of a cold' which is what these products claim to do). Not only do these over the counter products contain cheaper, often ineffective ingredients, they are marketed misleadingly and incorrectly, leaving the consumer out-of-pocket, confused and still with their aliments. You do not even want to think about where the fish in your 'bulk buy' fish oil comes from...

Professional practitioners seek active ingredients with efficacious results delivered in a timely manner. If a product does not work, practitioners will seek another. We look for quality and efficacy in nutritional products, and prefer to recommend excipient-free products, usually in powder or liquid form to ensure high bioavailability.
