About Me
My name is Matt Jermyn. I live on the Sunshine Coast Australia. Currently, I am studying viniyoga in the tradition of Krisnamacharya. I also teach Bikram Yoga. My first introduction to yoga may have been in the style known as Iyengar but I cannot remember the date. It wasn’t until my first Bikram class, on 22 Aug 2006, that my regular practice began and influenced the direction I’ve taken.
I originally set up this blog in 2008 to document my 365 day challenge in 2009: 12 Months, 12 Countries, a 30 Day Bikram Yoga Challenge in each. It was the trip of a lifetime. As life changes, we grow and my blog is a reflection of my experience and what I believe is important, interesting or just fun to share with other teachers and practitioners of yoga.
Training

I’m was born on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. I spent my youth traveling and living throughout Queensland and overseas, including Laos and China. On completion of college, I joined the Royal Australian Navy as an Electronics Technician – Communications and IT Systems. This set me up for my next career as a Film Tech, specialising in Screen Graphics on various Australian and Hollywood films. It was during this time I started practicing Bikram Yoga. Soon after I had the idea for my 365 Day Challenge, an idea so strong I was on the move again. The life of a gypsy; I guess I’m cursed with being both a gemini and number 5!
