Dharma Circle
Focus areas
Dharma Circle Collective is a meditation and yoga space created to support dedicated practice and awakening through the deep inquiry into the nature of mind and the lived experience.
Dharma Circle Collective is NOT your average yoga studio - if you have ever been curious about the deeper dimension of yoga but haven't known how to move beyond the physical practice or perhaps you've not felt comfortable (or flexible enough) to even venture into a class in the first instance...then this is your place!
Classes
Hatha Yoga
The Sunday 2hour session with Samantha take a particularly relaxed and spacious approach to yoga practice. Focusing particularly on embodied awareness through the exploration of slow and integrated movements and breath. The meditative feel of the class allows the body and mind to open beyond the regular holding patterns of guarding and/or over effort-ing (habits that often keep us tense, in pain or disconnected).
Meditation
Meditation helps cultivate steadiness in the open ground of awareness. It provides a sense of space and clarity, which in turn uncovers and nourishes a deep receptivity to life. With ongoing practice it is possible to allow the mind to rest – more and more effortlessly – in a calm and alert start. From here we are able to turn our attention to the nature of experience, gaining insight that helps move us beyond our habitual tendencies, perceptions and reactions.
Pranayama
Pranayama is as powerful as it is beautiful and a vital component of a well-rounded yoga practice. It is a portal to the divine essence which links asana (physical postures) and the experience of samadhi (deep meditation).
All other Pranayama sessions are best suited for anyone familiar with Pranayama with an interest to explore a the subtle breath.
Yoga Nidra
A deeply restorative relaxation-based form of Yoga offering a pathway to the deep rest you have been craving. Whether you are an experienced meditator or you have never tried Yoga before this ancient technique is safe and effective practice for everyone. From improved health, better sleep, decreased stress and anxiety, to letting go of unwanted thoughts and habits, the benefits of regular practice are endless.
Yin Yoga
Saturday Morning Yin Yoga classes with Lucy aim to release and renew. Yin yoga is gaining popularity for it's much needed and profound antidote to the demands of the modern lifestyle. Postures are held for 3-5 minutes, working on relaxing the muscles, improving flexibility, range of motion and encouraging deep relaxation. A wonderful practice to replenish the adrenals, restore energy, release stress, tightly bound muscles and energy. Class sizes are capped at 15 students, to ensure you receive individual care, space and support in your practice. Suitable and open to all levels.
Kriya Yoga
Kriya Yoga is an ancient system of yoga that was reintroduced into the modern world from the hidden caves of the Himalayas through the great yogi Shri Lahiri Mahasaya in the 1860s.
Kriya Yoga meditation classes at Dharma Circle Collective are open to those who have been initiated into Kriya Yoga in the tradition of Paramahamsa Hariharananda and Paramahamsa Prajnanananda.
Kriya Yoga is learned through a direct transmission of the technique from teacher to student, and programs are organised annually in Australia at which the technique can be learned.
