About Debby Heath - Psychotherapy & Counselling

Life can sometimes be very complex and painful. Whatever you’re going through, it can be helpful to talk to a trained professional who is independent of your family, friends, work and social circles.
I am a professionally trained and qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor, specialising in individual psychotherapy and counselling with adults.
I believe that an ethical, compassionate and mindful therapeutic relationship can give you an opportunity to work through whatever has brought you to therapy, whilst supporting you to develop more authentic ways of relating to yourself and others.
Whether we do short-term counselling or long-term psychotherapy depends on what you want to focus on and what you would like to gain from the therapy.
See 'Reasons for Therapy', 'Psychotherapy & Counselling' and 'Sessions & Fees' for more details.

About Me - Debby Heath
I am passionate about people, relationships, healing and personal growth.
My interest in people initially led me to complete a BA degree in Psychology and Sociology. I gained valuable life experience whilst travelling and working in different countries for a number of years before continuing my training. I spent two years completing my Holistic Counselling certification and then another seven years training as a Relational Psychotherapist, and obtainied an international qualification as a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy).
I work from an Integrative Relational Psychotherapy perspective, and will work with you to understand the conscious and unconscious dynamics in your relationships and your way of being in the world. This new awareness can help you to expand your range of options for responding to your environment, e.g. having a choice of behaviours, thoughts and feelings instead of automatically repeating the same patterns. The therapeutic relationship is seen as the main vehicle for change in the therapy.
*The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with the therapist that you choose, as change happens through the therapeutic relationship*
My Commitment to You
I am committed to client safety and ethical practice and participate in regular supervision and ongoing personal and professional development.
