What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is an integrative therapy that works with the body's structure, physiology, mind, and spirit.

It is a hands-on healing technique in which therapists mobilise and release the soft tissues of the head (cranium), the spine (the sacral area) and the pelvis.

Treatment focuses on moving the cerebrospinal fluid, which is produced continuously in brain structures. As crucial to health and well-being as breathing or the heartbeat, spinal fluid movement is thought to create a vital body rhythm.

Craniosacral Therapy boosts general well-being, reduces stress, improves sleep, and increases energy by enhancing the nervous system.

Craniosacral therapists may combine other therapies, like Polarity Therapy or Myofascial Release, into a session. When used in conjunction with Craniosacral Therapy, they enhance the healing process and effectiveness of the treatment.

Typically, clients wear light clothing and lie on a massage table as the therapist works. This procedure lasts between 40 and 60 minutes.

Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle and profoundly relaxing procedure suitable for all ages, including infants and children.

It is effective for a variety of conditions, including:

  • Autism
