Grief can stem from the death of a loved one, a relationship breakdown, or other reasons. If you let this strong emotion linger for too long, it can harm your mental & physical health. Counselling can help you break free from the cycle of angry, shocking or numbing emotions.

Counselling Service for You provides grief and loss support to individuals and families in Sylvania, New South Wales. We provide a safe environment in which you can freely express long-held emotions related to a significant loss.
What is grief?
You might experience grief if you have faced a great loss.
A loved one's death, a miscarriage, the end of a friendship or relationship, getting laid off or fired from a job, or even losing the ability to do anything can all result in grief.
Grief is an emotional roller coaster that we all experience, and it often includes emotions like rage, shock, denial, uncertainty, sadness, guilt and numbness. When we are grieving, we often feel loss of pleasure, appetite loss, and insomnia. Additionally, we are likely to strike out at family members for no apparent reason.
Overcoming grief with counselling
Although grief is a natural process, we can become trapped in this dangerous cycle. Some of us will become stuck and turn to alcohol to cope with our emotions; others will isolate themselves, become withdrawn, or become aggressive.
Unresolved grief can sometimes lead to depression.
Reaching out and getting support from a qualified grief and loss counsellor will help you work through these challenging feelings, stop any negative behaviours, and build the skills you need to move on more successfully.
Get help now if you or someone you care about has been grieving for far too long, to the point of neglecting their health, work, family, and life in general.
