Additional Services On Offer
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a technique used to treat Myofascial trigger points, taut palpable spots in the muscle, that present pain, muscle tenderness or stiffness. Treatment involves insertion of a needle into the centre of the trigger point that is gentle, safe, and pain free. The use of this simple needling technique has proven most effective in reducing pain, increasing muscle flexibility and strength.
Cupping
A treatment in which suction cups are applied to the skin to increase local blood flow and draw toxins to the skins surface. Cupping is a safe and non-invasive technique used to treat muscle and joint pain and spasms, particularly in the back, and is thought to stimulate blood circulation.
Clinical Pilates
Pilates uses scientifically proven techniques to strengthen the postural muscles of the spine to improve posture and to reduce injury and pain. Exercises are designed to tone the abdominals, hips and buttocks, whilst using your pelvic floor and diaphragm to control breathing. Pilates uses specialised equipment and techniques to re-activate these muscles and provide a “brace” for your spine to function.
Flexion Distraction Technique (FDT)
The FDT is an effective technique used to treat symptomatic disc injuries involving back pain and the often accompanying leg pain. FDT involves the use of a specialised table that gently distracts or stretches the spine and which allows the chiropractor to isolate the area of disc involvement while slightly flexing the spine in a pumping rhythm. There is no pain involved in the treatment.
Flexion-distraction is applied in a series of treatments combined with other chiropractic techniques as well as supplementation and home instructions. Want to know more? Then just give us a call or click on the 'Make an Enquiry' button today to talk to one of our practitioners.
