Zhiwei Shen (Richard) - Acupuncturist & Chinese Herbal practitioner

    Cert in Cosmetic Acupuncture

Richard graduated from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, in 1998, with
Bachelor and Master of TCM， after receiving seven years’training in both western medicine and
traditional Chinese medicine.Hepracticed at ShuGuangteaching hospital affiliated to the University afterwards. He was involved in a clinic project using Chinese medicine to relieve symptoms of Diabetes, and published an article about effectof Chinese Medical Herbs on patients with Type 2 Diabetes.

Richard is a clinic dietitian as well. He completedMaster of Nutrition and Dietetics at Wollongong University, NSW. He once practiced at Goldfield-Esperance GP network specializing indiet management on obesity and diabetes. As a co-author, he made contribution to a research published in journal of APPETITE 67(2013): Observations of mealtimes in hospital aged care rehabilitation wards.

Richard is currently running clinics atCannington, Innaloo, and Claremont. The services includeacupuncture, Chinese medicine consultation and dietetics consultation.In 2010, he run a pilot study with University of Western Australia on Effectiveness of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs on Patients with Depression, which was published on Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice (2012).

Vivien graduated from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, in 1997, with Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine.She has gained rich experiences through her years of practice and lecturing. She specializes in using Chinese medicine forpain relieve, women’ health and body energy balance.She is currently teaching acupuncture at Endeavour College of Natural Health, Perth.
