Life doesn’t have to be complicated – discover how you can have a more satisfying and meaningful life
- Who am I?
Why am I here?
What is my purpose?
What do the changes I experience really mean?
Do you have a clear purpose for how you want to live your life?
So many people today are seeking clarity, past decisions are difficult to change leaving a sense of feeling stuck. My clients tell me that they long to be in touch with who they really are and how they want for their life to be?
Maybe you
- Find yourself in relationship patterns that are hard to break
Experience depression or anxiety
Use alcohol, drugs or sex to soothe your emotional pain
Withdraw and use avoidance strategies for not living life to your full potential
Or perhaps you lack intimacy and closeness with others
Deciding how you want to live your life doesn’t have to be complicated or painful
No matter yourself issue, I can help you to find the direction you want and how you can move towards living the satisfying life you long for.
In coming along to counselling you will discover how to:
- Understand why you keep repeating the same mistakes
Create change and find direction for living in your life
Find meaning and move towards the change you want for your life
Discover how your life purpose and passion was forgotten or lost
Find satisfying ways of communicating what you want and need
Freedom from being trapped in relationship patterns that no longer satisfy you
In deciding to come to counselling you are saying that you are ready to commit to changing your life.
The change you want is linked to the choices you make
I have over 30 years working with people and have been in private practice for 13 years. There isn’t much I haven’t heard before. I enjoy working with people who have made a decision to change what they want for their life.
Feeling stuck or undecided is a normal part of life. Taking the first step in coming along to discuss your concerns can be scary but also rewarding.

Services
Counselling and Psychotherapy
Individual Sessions
I have extensive experience working with people in emotinal pain. I have worked with a range of issues, problems and life situations, which all lead to the question, what it means to be human. Together we will explore the choices you have made in the past, are currently making and together, we will explore what possibilities life holds for you.
Couple Relationship Sessions
In couple’s relationship therapy I will work with your relational world, two people together whose relational communication and choices provide a source of fear and taps into the emotional pain that is masked by the “couple blame game”. Exploring both worldviews allows healing to happen when blame is removed, awareness and understanding occurs
Group Therapy Sessions
I use an Interpersonal model for my groups. It allows each member to offer and receive valuable and often enlightening feedback on how they are perceiving themselves and how others are relating to them. Groups are short term – up to 12 weeks and long term – up to 2 or 3 years. For more details on my groups see my website Sydney Group Therapy and Training
Consultancy Services
I currently offer consultancy as a Clinical Supervisor and Trainer to organisations.
This includes clinical supervision, small group and team work, training in topics such as ”The Accidental Counsellor” for staff
Other workshops are available on request.
For the counseling and coaching professional I offer clinical supervision individually and in small groups along with, group therapy for personal development as a counsellor and therapist.
About Your Counselling Sessions
Initially the first session will focus on gaining an understanding of the issues you bring along. You may not have spoken about it to others before, or even tried to read a few books to help you understand your situation or perhaps you have discussed it at length but don’t seem to be getting anywhere.
Clients often feel that they walk away feeling lighter after the first session, some with new insights or have a clearer understanding of what they want to work on and towards. Subsequent sessions will focus on developing your exploration and choices on what is important for you.
Session Length
Each session is 60 minutes duration for individuals and 90 minutes for couples. Once a couple has settled into a working phase, the session time may drop to 60 minutes.
Research indicates that attendance at sessions weekly will provide a stronger outcome. Coming along monthly or having long gaps between sessions is not advisable as each session will feel like a catch up on what has been happening rather than reviewing and working through your issue.
My Hours of Practice
Monday and Tuesday 8.30 am till 7 pm
Wednesdays 8.30 till 4pm
Thursday and Friday 8.30 till 12 midday.
I am flexible in my appointments where possible and will try to accommodate your requests.
Please enquire at time of booking for service fee. I offer a 10%discount when 6 sessions are booked and paid for in advance.
About Adam
I have been practicing as a therapist for 13 years. Influenced by Existential Philosophy, I integrate life’s concerns and struggles in my work with my clients. I believe we construct our view of who we are, and our world through the choices we make. I have over 30 years experience in working with people from a diverse range of issues and backgrounds. In a previous life I was a Psychiatric Nurse and later going on to specialise in working with people affected by Cancer where both worlds met. Since then I returned to my interest – ‘what it mean to be human”.
