More About Massage
Massage is natural metod to to return to normal health after injury.
Massage stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic system which results in removal of toxins, firmer skin and improved immunity.
Remedial Massage
It is combined with additional techniques which enable manipulation of soft tissues and the treatment of muscular dysfunction toa specific body area. Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management. It’s performed to create favourable conditions for the body to return to normal health after injury and is defined by the premise that the treatment can reasonably reverse certain physical effects a patient may be presenting. If a patient has suffered a moderate injury resulting in structural pain and/or loss of function, then remediation is required to reduce oreliminate pain and restore that function. Remedial massage is designed to balance muscle/soft tissue length, tension, tone which will in turn promote the return to normal joint/capsular/bone position;
- increase the flow of blood and lymph
- particularly in the injured areas
- thus removing
- blockages
- damaged cells
- scar tissue and adhesions resulting from injury
For the best result during the treatment Remedial Massage Therapist can use from different technique such as:
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymphatic Massage also called Lymphatic Drainage is type of massage where therapist uses gentle techniques to “drain” the lymph fluid from the tissues and into the lymphatic system, textLink_ii2h9mj6moting healthy lymphatic function. Boosting the activity of the lymphatic system and its healthy functions aids crucial processes, such as dealing with toxins and wastes, normalising body functions and aiding digestive processes. The lymphatic system is very important to the immune system, providing the living environment for many of the body's white blood cells.
Myofascial Release/Craniosacral
Myofascial Release technique is a gentle, safe and very effective manual therapy. “Myo” is like a philosophy, where mind and body work together to maintain health. This exactly means, that mind and body are one and the same. Massage Therapist using own hands during fascial treatment and rehabilitation, eliminates tension and restrictions with soft tissue and fascial system. It is very important, because “fascia” surrounds, infuses and protects every other tissue, tendon, muscle, bone, ligament and organ of the body. Structure of the fascia in a good condition should be relaxed and wavy in configuration. Myofascial treatment is the best way to achieve this state.
Sport Massage
It might be pre-event, post-event or recovery. Sports massage is ideal to treat injuries and as a preventative treatment. It affects the health of muscle and connective tissue, range of movement, tone, symmetry, balance of muscle and the quality of posture.
Trigger Points Therapy
A trigger point is simply a small contraction point in muscle. This point very often is call "knot". That knot we can feels like a pea buried deep in the muscle, and can feel as big as a thumb. It maintains a hard contraction on the muscle fibres connected to it, thus causing a tight band that can also be felt in the muscle.
The inside of the body is covered with soft tissue called fascia. This tissue covers evert structure including organs, muscles, nerves and blood vessels.
The fascia that covers your muscles is call myofascia.
When the myofascia is stressed from overuse or trauma it can tear and adhear together.
These adhesions are called "trigger points" and can prevent the muscles from working well.
Trigger points lead to an increase in muscle stiffness and tenderness and a decrease in range-of-motion. The label “Trigger Point” was first used in medical literature in 1942, by Janet Travell an David Simons, American doctors. Travell and Simons estimate that up to 95% of pain seen at medical practices/pain clinics is of trigger point origin; and that 85% of the time, the sole cause of pain is from trigger points.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy massage is massage therapy but with highly concentrated plant oils, called essential oils, added to the massage oil or lotion. Stress and stress-related conditions such as insomnia, Headache, Digestive disorders, Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), Back pain.
