Chiropractic

Chiropractors are allied health professionals that treat conditions relating to dysfunction or imbalance of the spine, and recognise that this can impair the ability of the body to work optimally. They treat this by applying spinal manipulation (“adjustments”) to restore normal function to the spine. A spinal manipulation or adjustment can be delivered by hand or with the use of an instrument (i.e. activator, drop-piece or blocks). To promote faster healing chiropractors complement their spinal manipulation or adjustments with other techniques such as massage, stretching, flexion-distraction, extremity treatment, exercise advice and dry-needling. Chiropractic treatment techniques are broad, diverse and tailored towards restoring balance to the body of the individual.

Exercise Physiology

What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist?

Accredited exercise physiologists (AEPs) specialise in individualised exercise programs for persons at high-risk of developing, or who already have existing chronic conditions or injuries.

These specialist exercise programs include exercise delivery, advice and support and a strong focus on successfully changing lifestyle behaviours.

AEPs are recognised allied health professionals (such as a dietitian or physiotherapist) displaying a diverse range of knowledge and skills, working across a variety of areas in the health and exercise and sports science fields.

The aims of AEP clinical exercise programs are to prevent or manage chronic disease or injury, and assist in restoring your optimal physical function, health or wellness.

Myotherapy

Clinical myotherapy involves the use of advanced hands on manual techniques and a variety of other treatment techniques to reduce muscle tension and trigger points associated with aches and pains, sports and occupational injury, and muscular dysfunction.

Myotherapy is applied to restore and maintain muscle integrity of the soft tissue structures (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia) as well as joint and nerve functioning. Pain or symptoms caused by muscle (myo) or fascia is described as myofascial. Myofascial pain is usually poorly localised and is often described by the patient as a 'deep ache', 'tightness' or 'tenderness' in an area. It often varies in intensity and radiates to other areas in the body.

Podiatry

Walk, run, jump, play your favourite sport or daily activities with ease and without the restriction that comes with sore painful aching feet. Have you seen a Podiatrist before? A Podiatrist is able to prevent, diagnose and treat feet and lower limb conditions.
