Group Pilates

Norther Pilates’ group classes are ideal for all fitness levels, and are easily modified for those with physical limitations.

Group classes are small with a maximum of only 10 participants for optimal results.

If you find equipment sessions are costly, Mat and Barre classes are more affordable.

On the other hand, if you don’t feel like going to a group class, or if you have an injury or have other special concerns, semi-private sessions are available too.

Posture and health assessment are not necessary for these classes.

Barre Body

If you want a high-energy, heart pumping class, you can try the Barre Body class. It’ll burn calories, strengthen your muscles, and improve your core giving you a sleek, streamlined and toned body.

Mat

Mat classes are pilates exercises maximising your own body’s weight and resistance to strengthen the core and lengthen arms and legs.

You’ll hold a series of movements on your mat to improve posture, circulation and body awareness. Props like an exercise ball or bands can also be used.

Pre and Postnatal Pilates

Pilates is widely considered as one of the best forms of exercises for pregnant women.

Because of its focus on flexibility, alignment and body awareness, pilates helps relieve common pregnancy conditions like backaches, fatigue and stress.

Prenatal Pilates

Prenatal classes are designed to help an expectant mum adapt  with the physical discomfort of pregnancy while keeping active.

Pilates during the prenatal period helps a mum’s body prepare for childbirth, support the baby’s growth and development and prevent conditions like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes.

Classes are also an opportunity for expecting mothers to relax and form a community with other women who are in the same journey.

Postnatal Pilates

Caring for a newborn is tough and overwhelming especially when you’re sleep deprived and drained of energy. For this reason, it’s only essential that you take care of yourself, too.

Provided you’ve been cleared by your doctor, you can ease back to doing regular exercises again.

Postnatal pilates is an excellent form of exercise to speed up your recovery process, target muscles that have been affected by childbirth, improve strength, boost energy and calm your mind.

You can come on your own for a little “me” time or bring your little one in classes either in a pram or carrier.

Pre/postnatal matwork groups require a minimum of 3 participants to start a class. Studio sessions are 1 hour long.

Important Reminders for Studio Sessions

  • If this is your first time doing pilates, or you’re a new customer, you will start out with an initial consultation.
  • A customised program will be developed after your consultation.
  • A minimum of two private appointments is necessary for you to attend before you can continue in a Duet or Semi-Private session.
  • Level of intensity in 1-hour studio sessions increases gradually as you gain strength.
