What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic therapy that utilises hands-on assessment techniques to diagnose and treat the musculoskeletal system.

Osteopaths examine more than just the site of pain or discomfort; they assess compensatory patterns from surrounding body areas to determine the extent of the injury. This thorough diagnostic assessment allows comprehensive treatment to be tailored to the individual.

Treatments aim to improve the quality of movement within the body, to assist the muscular flexibility and to promote neurological control to function optimally and improve overall health.

Osteopaths encourage self-awareness to identify factors that aggravate patient injury. This allows you to take part in a tailored rehabilitation solution, to enhance recovery and reduce the likelihood of injury re-occurring. Osteopaths have a range of treatment techniques and reassessment procedures to ensure effective and comfortable treatment. These include: soft-tissue massage, joint articulation and manipulation, muscle energy and stretching modalities. In addition, some indirect and ‘slow release techniques’, including balanced ligamentous tension, are also commonly used, especially with elderly and very young individuals, ensuring treatment is both safe and comfortable.

Treatment Costs

Treatment costs $150 for an initial one-hour consultation and $100 for a half hour return consultation.

Concession prices are $130 for an initial consultation and $90 for a concession consultation.
