1. What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy used by Psychotherapists; it is an altered state of consciousness where your body feels relaxed and your mind is open to receiving positive suggestions. Hypnosis in general deals with altered brain waves. What happens when you enter a hypnotic state is that you move from your normal state of awareness (Beta), dropping down to Alpha (relaxed), or lower.
Because of this, the critical function of your mind becomes open to receiving suggestions. That`s what Clinical Hypnotherapy is about; the power of suggestions, allowing us to create changes at a subconscious level.
This method of creating positive changes has been proven to be more effective than traditional therapy.

A Survey conducted by Alfred A. Barrios, PhD, has found the following recovery rates:
- Psychoanalysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions
- Behavior Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions
- Hypnotherapy 93% Recovery after 6 sessions
2. Can Anyone Be Hypnotised?
Hypnosis is a natural state in humans. Have you ever experienced driving your car on "auto pilot" not remembering what route you took?
Anyone can be hypnotised, however not everyone benefits from hypnotherapy as a form of treatment. If you are willing to change, hypnotherapy is beneficial for you. If you are looking for treatment because someone is pressuring you, hypnosis may not be your best option. Hypnotherapy will work if you are open to change.
3. How many sessions do I require?
It depends on the change you would like to make. Normally the average is 6 sessions, however it will vary from person to person. We assess your individual situation during the first session. Most clients will see benefits after the first session and will continue treatment for 2 sessions after that. For example the "Stop Smoking" program averages at 3 sessions, but again it depends of the individual`s lifestyle and willingness to change.
