At In The Game Fitness and Training we believe in working with you to ensure that you not only achieve your health and fitness goals but that you also understand why we train the way we do so you can maintain your new body for the long term.

LOSE WEIGHT

And the added bonus of being stronger and increasing muscle size is you are turning your body into a fat burning machine. More muscles means you burn more calories at rest, so you lose more weight even when you aren't doing anything. How cool is that?

Of course the best and fastest way to lose weight is to do cardio training. At In The Game we believe cardio should be fun. Whether it be walking, running, boxing, riding, or rowing we will help you to find something you enjoy doing. After all if you don't like it, you wont do it!!

INCREASE MUSCLE

Everyone wants to be strong. But that doesn't mean you have to get ‘huge’, unless you want to of course. We mean building muscles that are tight, toned and fit (trust me girls you wont get huge, just toned and yummy!) Functional strength is the focus at In The Game. You wont find any cardio twisters or Ab swings in our gym.

We will work with you to build strength, stamina and suppleness that will translate into all aspects of your life. From increasing sporting performance to being able to carry the groceries into the house in less trips, our programs will help you towards your goals.

Remember, being strong is cool.

Whether you want to run a marathon, run around the block, increase your performance or make that sporting team we can help you. Kevin has been playing and coaching football for over 30 years and worked with some of the best players and coaches in the business. No matter what your sport or goal we can work out a program for you to help you achieve your absolute best.

Of course your goal may be completely different and because each goal is as individual as the person who is chasing it, at In The Game we make sure we sit down with you work out the best way we can reach your desires together. After all you’re not doing this alone, I am here to help you every step of the way!



Meet the Trainer

In The Game Fitness & Training was established in Bald Hills in 2009 by Kevin Dunbar.

In The Game was born out of Kevin’s passion for sport, health and fitness. From a competitive football (soccer) player and coach, to boxing, surfing, cricket and jiu-jitsu he has built up an understanding for what it means to be fit and healthy. But it wasn’t always like that.

After returning from a 6 month stint travelling around the United Kingdom in 1998 and seeing a photo of himself, realising he was 15kgs overweight and his wedding coming up soon, he knew he had to do something about it. After trying the local gym, a couple of diets and other things he stumbled into a small studio in Fortitude Valley and his passion for fitness training was born.

Kevin took time off after 17 years with the Public Service to complete his fitness studies with Max International College of Fitness Professionals and since 2010 has dedicated is attention fulltime to helping people achieve the goals, bodies and dreams they desire.

Kevin now keeps fit and strong though personal training (yep he has his own trainer), jiu-jitsu and triathlons.

With the support of his wife Peta and two sons Jayden (8yrs) and Riley (3yrs) Kevin is ready to help you towards your goals in a fun, friendly and supporting environment.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share my journey to date with Kevin and In the Game Fitness.

For years I had been unfit and unhappy with the way I looked. I have tried every Diet there was out there. It was great for the few months and would drop some great numbers and then day to day life would take over again and the Kilos came back ...and bought friends grrr.

I had never been into sport or exercise and had no idea where to start or how to start a workout plan and I was finding even walking was a struggle..

Then I met up with Kevin and we chatted about what I was looking for and what type of exercise I would be interested in, Kev asked all the right questions and was genuinely interested in helping me. So I bit the bullet and had a complimentary session. At the start I was so nervous I was in the Studio and saw all this equipment that honestly was so Alien to me.. But again Kev and I had a chat and assessment, I felt so at ease and comfortable chatting with him I found myself opening up fully about my weight and fitness struggles and for me that is huge. Well then I gloved up and had my first ever Boxing session in my life.. Kev was so patient and understanding and walk me through the actions with gentle corrections to my technique. I left the session tired but pumped..

I came back again and over the course of the next couple of weeks I was lifting weights, boxing, rowing and doing all sorts of exercises that I had not done before.. but at the same time having a great laugh with Kev as he always makes me feel relaxed and comfortable no matter how unco I was :-) and trust me I must have been a sight in the early days..

I continued on and found some friends to come along and share my sessions helps with the $$$ and is great fun with the music pumping, laughing and working hard.. Now I am the fit, strong and best of all I have dropped two dress sizes and my end goal is in sight!!!
