Servicing area
Nationally, with Branches in NSW, Vic, Qld, SA and WAFocus areas
About the AHA
From various associations merged in 1995, The Australian Homoeopathic Association Inc’s (AHA's) origins date back to 1946 with the Australian Institute of Homoeopathy.
They formed the association between the merger of the Australian Federation of Homoeopaths (NSW, SA, VIC and TAS branches), the Australian Society of Homoeopaths (QLD), and the Oceanic Homoeopathic Research Foundation (WA).
Further fusions were concluded with the Australian Federation of Homoeopaths in Queensland and Western Australia, and the Homoeopathic Association of New South Wales in 1997.

Practitioner Regulations
As with many complementary medicine practitioners, homoeopaths are unregistered healthcare practitioners.
Unregistered healthcare practitioners are those who do not have to be licensed by law or provide health services unrelated to their license.
They include homoeopaths, naturopaths, psychotherapists, and therapeutic masseuses.
In contrast to doctors and chiropractors, who are regulated by law, State and Federal governments prefer that the homoeopathic profession and many complementary therapies be self-regulatory.
The Australian Register of Homoeopaths (ARoH) is the government’s self-regulatory body for homoeopathic practitioners. Regulatory bodies set educational standards of government guidelines and impose a Code of Conduct on their members.
A Code of Conduct for Unregistered Health Practitioners has been implemented in most states by agreement, which all practitioners in the states must display in their clinics.
Professionalism
Professional Members of the AHA are registered with the Australian Register of Homoeopaths (ARoH). As members, they must abide by the register’s Code of Conduct and Standards of Practice and the AHA’s Code of Ethics and Practice.
An ARoH registration requires that practitioners:
- meet the national standard
- have current professional indemnity, public liability insurance, first aid certificate
- maintain regular professional development
