The Chakras
A Chakra or energy centre is like a wheel or vortex of energy within a body. There are seven main Chakras whith transfer and convert energy throughout the bodily systems. They are also directly and Intimately connected with the higher centres of the brain which are sleeping or dormant and not yet in use.
It is through Yoga practices that these energy centres can be stimulated to circulate energy to different parts of the brain for the awakening of higher consciousness, to illuminate what at present remains undiscovered and unmanifested, but which must be realised and expressed as an essential and important part of our evolution.
On the physiological level, the nerves associated with the plexus related to each Chakra carry energy from the Chakra to the physical body. Every practice In Yoga is, in some way, directly or indirectly connected to the energy within the whole Chakra system.
