About Us
Yoga has been in and out of Cath’s life for the last 10 years. She would come back to yoga each time her body was in pain from outrigging (a sport she was very passionate about). Once the aches and pains disappeared she would leave yoga to punish herself once again in the outrigging boat returning to yoga when the pain became too much to handle.
Over time she came to realise how great she felt when yoga was in her life, not only physically but also mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Cath made the decision to make yoga a larger and more consistent part of her life and this is how she came to teaching yoga.
Cath has completed the Knoff Foundation Level Teacher Training and looking forward to her continual learning and development through the Knoff yoga system. Cath also has a Bachelor of Business Hospitality Management, Diploma in Life Coaching and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. She is a Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and a Time Line Therapist. Cath has owned and operated her business, Cath Andison Life Strategies for the past 2 years.
Her core values of fulfilment, passion, determination and compassion bring out unique skills which she uses in assisting others to achieve their ultimate potential. To be the best within any area of your life the first step is to know ones’ self. What limits you, through to what motivates you? Cath believes yoga is one of the best paths a person can take to bring awareness of this to the individual. Her highly infectious personality and belief in the power of fun and enthusiasm adds a whole new dimension to any self development journey.

Ambika Yoga bringing Knoff Yoga to you
The style of yoga Cath teaches is Knoff Yoga. This is an intelligent and practical approach to one of the main branches of yoga called Hatha yoga. It incorporates a mix of 5 traditional elements of yoga:
1. Yoga Meditation (non-religious, it is about calming the mind)
2. Yoga Pranayama (breathing exercises for increased vitality)
3. Yoga Postures (realigning, balancing and strengthening the body)
4. Yoga Relaxation (reduction of stress)
5. Yoga Philosophy (positive and uplifting thoughts)
When practiced regularly, yoga becomes an extremely powerful and sophisticated discipline for achieving physical, mental and emotional well-being within the individual. When one individual has greater freedom and comfort in their bodies and clarity in their minds this ripples out to those around them. This approach is very simple and uncomplicated. The initial focus is on our physical practice, turning our attention to achieving this greater freedom and comfort in our bodies. This requires us to become more mindful with our bodies assisting us to become more mindful in our lives.
Any pain we experience, be it a physical pain in our bodies or an emotional pain, it is linked directly with a pain within our minds. While almost all exercise can be beneficial, practicing yoga ultimately leads you toward long-term health and well being on the physical and the psychological level. Ultimately a consistent practice of yoga gives you the capacity to face up to life’s challenges. Life is a tremendous gift and it is up to us to learn, grow and continually improve ourselves so we live the life we want to be living.
