What is connective tissue therapy?
Connective tissue therapy is a remedial therapy performed whilst fully clothed, addressing aches, pains, injury and disease, as well as nervous tension and emotional conditions.
It is delicate non-invasive technique working with specific joints, muscles, organs and body tissues that introduces a subtle wave-like motion to the body that offers a harmonious pulse to be received, clearing underlying energetic imprints held in our body and thus offering healing of both physical and emotional conditions. As the connective tissue is all connected in a matrix throughout the body, all parts of the body will respond by loosening, expanding and returning to a state of ease; Joints, muscles, ligaments & bones respond to the gentle, rhythmic techniques, as do the cardiovascular and lymphatic systems. It notably affects the flow of craniosacral fluid from the brain down the spinal column, allowing it to move more freely. It assists to re-align the body and gives one the sense of greater internal spaciousness and freedom of movement, as well as being profoundly relaxing.
Tension, stress, emotions and physical trauma all change the quality of our connective tissue, making it contracted, dense and less fluid and flexible, contributing significantly to pain. connective tissue therapy is an exceptional technique in the support of people who are experiencing chronic pain and improvements are seen to be lasting, not just for relief, so long as the person is willing to address the physical, energetic and emotional areas of their life that contribute to chronic tissue changes.
A program of connective tissue therapy can offer a gentle yet profound lymphatic detox which allows for greater clarity of mind and supports with the stress and tensions of everyday life.
- It offers support for physical conditions such as neck pain, shoulder tension, shortness of breath, musculoskeletal injuries, inflammation, arthritis and chronic pain.
- It can be very supportive both before and after medical treatment and operations.
- It can be incorporated within a remedial massage or stillness healing session, or can be a stand alone treatment.
A program of 3 - 6 sessions is recommended.
