Classes

Bikram Yoga

Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints needed for the next posture. The Bikram method also stimulates the organs, glands, and nerves moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body helping to restore all systems to a healthy working order.

Bikram scientifically designed this 90 minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss and limit the effects of ageing. The series is dynamic and exhilarating. The series of postures combine skills of concentration, patience, determination and self control that increase mental clarity and reduce stress.

Power Flow

The Aloha Active ‘Power Flow’ class is a Vinyasa style yoga class. A dynamic style of yoga practice, the postures in this class progress in a flowing fashion, energising the body and mind.

Classes follow a standard pattern but unlike the Bikram yoga class, there isn’t a set sequence. Each class will vary in postures, with a focus on strengthening the core, improving flexibility and your state of mind.

Power Flow classes are held in a heated studio at a temperature between 30-34 degrees celsius.

Hot Power Flow is suitable for all levels and aims to strengthen the body and calm the mind.

Hot Pilates

Want to improve your overall health and fitness, reduce stress, lose weight?

This class promises to sculpt and tone your body, strengthen your core and improve your cardiovascular system. Will burn hundreds of calories by focusing on high intensity interval training (HIIT) using Pilates principles in a heated room 32-34 degrees. Each class follows a similar pattern, but the sequence can vary from class to class. This class is high energy, upbeat and you’ll get one of the best workouts you’ve ever had.

This class is suitable for beginners.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a great complement to other styles of yoga. Yin is a passive style of yoga, with postures conducted primarily on the floor. Yin yoga is unique in that you fully relax into the postures, allowing the practise to soften the muscles and work deep into the joints and fascia system of the body. Postures are held for longer period of time, generally 1-5 minutes. Because of this, Yin yoga is a deeper meditative experience than Bikram or Power flow yoga.

This class follows a structured posture sequence that’s the same every class, this enables you to focus more closely on your breath and movement. Woven through this flow sequence are the basic Bikram yoga postures and then some. This class works your entire body, from the mind to your bone marrow and skin.
