NTPagesTV's roving reporter Kat Tate is with Jenny Blyth of Medimpex, a distributor of Avemar, a fermented wheat germ extract, which is a food that is also used as a medical supplement for cancer patients. It's as easy as mixing a sachet into half a glass of water and is taken on an empty stomach.
The following is a written transcription of the interview.
Natural Therapy Pages: I'm Kat from NTPagesTV, and I'm here with Jenny from Medimpex. How are you, Jenny?
Jenny Blyth: Fine, thanks Kat.
NTP: Good. Now tell me about your company and what you do.
JB: Medimpex is a company based on the Gold Coast, and we import only one product which is called Avemar. It's a fermented wheat germ extract that we've been importing for the last eight years.
NTP: How does it work? How would you use it?
JB: It's a fermented wheat germ extract and, in Australia, we're actually selling it as a food. But in other countries around the world, mainly in Europe, it's classified as a medical nutriment for cancer patients.
NTP: Wonderful. How do you take it?
JB: It comes in a sachet form. There's actually 30 sachets in this box, and you mix it in half a glass of water and have it on an empty stomach.
NTP: What are the benefits of it as a food?
JB: Lots of benefits, but the best thing for people to find out is they actually go on to our website, which is www.avemar.com.au, and they can read all about it there. And they'll be able to see that there's been more than 100 published studies done on this product all around the world, including a colorectal cancer study that was published in the British Journal of Cancer.
NTP: Fantastic. Okay, I'm gonna have to jump in and then have a look. Thanks Jenny.
JB: Thanks Kat.
