How can we live a fulfilling life? How should we live? How do we learn? These are the big questions that will be tackled when Mind & Its Potential descends on Sydney this October.
The event, being held on 29 – 30 October at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, brings together the greatest minds in learning, creativity and personal development.
Now in its seventh year, Mind and Its Potential 2012 promises a jam-packed program to help ‘explore the amazing potential of your mind’.
Notable Speakers
Among the impressive line-up of experts are:
- Professor V.S. Ramachandran: known as neuroscience’s Marco Polo, the best-selling author will provide new insights into how our brains have evolved.
- Michael J. Gelb: the creative thinking pioneer will outline how to improve your mind as you age.
- Professor Robert Vallerand: the acclaimed Canadian psychologist will explore passion.
- Dr Mark Greenberg: hailing from the US, the award-winning child development researcher and educator will explore mindfulness and how it applies to education.
- Professor Michael Merzenich: the brain plasticity research innovator will demonstrate how we can harness our brain’s plasticity to overcome conditions and live happier and healthier lives.
Other intriguing speakers include Amy Saltzman, M.A. Greenstein and Karen Carey. Beach volleyball Olympic gold medallist Kerri Pottharst and champion freediver Ant Williams will also share their personal stories of success.
Workshop It
This year, Mind and Its Potential is again running pre and post-conference workshops. Delegates can hear practical tips on how to live their lives.
Michael J. Gelb will lead the pre-conference workshop on Sunday 28 October, with his session ‘Create Like Leonardo’. You’ll learn how to think more creatively, improve your problem solving skills and memory, and reduce stress by finding balance.
In the afternoon, you can discover how to ‘Innovate Like Edison’ and think like an innovator to create success in your life.
The post-conference workshops on Wednesday 31 October feature a broad spread of topics. Sue Langley will explore neuroscience, while Shamash Alidina will lead participants through a journey of mindfulness. Other speakers will address education, spatial memory and more.
