Jennifer from We Are One tells NTPagesTV reporter Mel about her range of children's books, including We Are One and We Are Love, which help remind us of the simple truths about who we are.
The following is a written transcription of the interview.
Natural Therapy Pages: I'm Mel from NTPagesTV, and I'm here with Jennifer from We Are One. How are you, Jennifer?
Jennifer Black: I'm very well. Thank you.
NTP: You've got a beautiful stand with beautiful products. Tell me about what you do.
JB: Firstly, I'm an artist. When my children were born, I wrote my first children's book called We Are One. It's a rhythmic poem about unity and love. When my second child was born, I wrote We Are Love, which is another rhythmic story talking about love. So, there's simple truths in children's book format.
NTP: What age are the books good for?
JB: Probably from zero to a hundred.
NTP: I love that. I love that.
JB: For the child within all of us. I realised on the journey to creating the books, and also seeing my reaction and other people's reaction to the work, that we can always be reminded of the simple truth of who we are. And that's what these books are - they're just simple truths. So, without getting too wordy, that's why I say from 0 to 100.
NTP: Yeah, that's lovely. Was it the birth of your first child that inspired you to write the first book?
JB: I had always wanted to do a children's book, and I knew that would come one day. When I was looking in the world for children's books when I was pregnant, I thought, 'what would I want to tell my child?', and the message of we are one was what came through about unity. So, I committed to writing that first book, and I sat down to write it and I wrote it in an hour. And then it took me a year to illustrate. So, isn't that quite another lengthy part of the journey that had to be accomplished. And We Are Love is a bit different. Took me about two years to edit the words, and about a year to illustrate.
NTP: You've got some other beautiful things on display here. Obviously, we can buy your artwork. And what else? You've got T-shirts…
JB: Yes. I do the little dinner sets cause I wanted the children to be able to hold the artwork. And parents tend to be very precious with the books. Then there's T-shirts and images for the kids to see on the walls in their bedrooms.
NTP: Do you have a website that we can go to?

JB: Yes, and I pay for postage in Australia.
