Natural Therapy Pages: So, you've just finished your course in natural therapies, and you're wondering how can I start advertising to build my business? Well, today we speak to Emma, who is a naturopath who advertises on naturaltherapypages.com.au, Australia's number one natural health directory. How you going Emma?
Emma Sutherland: Good, very good.
NTP: Why do you advertise with NTPages?
ES: There's a number of reasons. Probably because it's easy exposure for somebody that's in a small business and it's very affordable.
NTP: Sure, affordable, so what are we talking about in terms of money?
ES: In terms of money, it costs me $150 a year. And for that, I get a full webpage profile.
NTP: That is fantastic, isn't it? That is a 12-month exposure of your business. So, do you get a lot of clients through your webpage on NTPages?
ES: I do, I do. You know, I track that on my intake forms. But also you can have a look at it through Natural Therapy Pages. You can go in and have a look at your stack. So, I think I would average at about 20 to 25 patients a year on that. For that price, that's fantastic.
NTP: How long have you been advertising on NTPages?
ES: Just over three years.
NTP: And then you mentioned statistics before. What other features does your webpage have on NTPages?
ES: I have quite a number of features. One that I do like is the fact that I can track how many people actually have a look at my profile, how many times my profile will come up when somebody searches under a modality. And also, it has a function where people can email me directly. So, if they have any questions or need to touch base with me about something, they can do that as well.
NTP: What does it look like visually, though, to have your own webpage? Do you get your photo there and can you put a profile?
ES: Yeah, well, you can put anything you like. And it's really easy to change because you can actually go in and change things and keep things up to date. You can put beautiful photos, you can put information about yourself, your modalities, whatever you like.
NTP: When you're making those sorts of changes, do you find the staff friendly?
ES: I can actually do it myself. I can go in and do it yourself. If you have any problems, you just call up and you can do it over the phone, but it's really easy to actually negotiate and do it yourself.
NTP: Now, Emma, what happens if you have your own website?
ES: Well, the good thing is that your website is linked directly to Natural Therapy Pages profiles. So, you know people can go and have a look at your profile and then they can click onto your website and get redirected to that. So, you can also potentially get a lot of traffic coming through for that.
